Botswana

“Without new experiences, something inside us sleeps.” Frank Herbert.

Botswana is a country of stark contrasts, a land of burning desert and crystal clear waterways.

Along the northern border five central African countries meet, and two great rivers, the Zambezi and the Chobe Rivers, flow, providing sanctuary for the greatest herds of elephant in Africa.

In the north of the country the Okavango Delta, for which Botswana is justifiably famous, is uniquely an inland delta, where the flood waters of the Okavango, born months before in the Angolan highlands, seep into the sands of the Kalahari, forming a vast web of waterways and floodplains that are a paradise for birds and game animals.

Further south are the scorched lands of the Kalahari Desert - salt pans shimmering in the heat and endless miles of plains and scrubland.
